MAZDA RX-4 (MK 1)
Mazda released the Series 1 RX-4 (named the Luce in Japan) in October 1972. The new arrival marked the sixth rotary powered car in as many years. This RX-4’s marketing theme was ‘low pollution’ and ‘luxury’. Road & Track magazine heralded the RX-4’s improved fuel economy, and price compared, to the RX-3. RX-4 was scored on Road & Track magazine’s ten-best list for “Best Sports Sedan, $3500-6500” in 1975.
